Garnet Pitta

I visited Taman Negara Sg. Relau over this long CNY leave for some birding. The trip was "OK" except for Day 1 and 2, on Day 1, the 4x4 was busy ferrying climbers back and forth between base camp and Kuala Juram, by that you can imagined how disturbing it was. On Day 2, there was a heavy downpour in the morning and remains gloomy throughout the day,  another bad day.

Day 3 was good and the birds were very very active, especially the Asian Paradise Flycatchers (Dark Morph with long central tail/without long central tail (no White Morph were sighted)) which were calling/singing profusely, I managed some shots but no clean perched.

As for this trip, the most welcoming calling were the calls of a Garnet Pitta. In fact, there were two of them on the same premise  presumably a male/female breeding/nesting.
