Blue Nuthatch

I spotted this Blue Nuthatch jumping along a tree trunk and I had almost mistaken it for a Woodpecker.

The 1st photograph is not very clear, my apology. But, what is interesting about this bird is it can run down a tree trunk head first (photograph 2 below).

Very restless and jumping without stopping and ...jumps away from my gaze too.

Kinta Nature Park 2

It was not that bad as reported by The Star, this huge disused mining pond is still teaming with wildlife, especially Herons. However, enforcement must be made to ban fishing and sand mining activities immediately.

There were fishing lines, and fishing net strewed all over the park and it was a sorry sight. The bird life might entangled themselves to the fishing line/net and starve to death.

The sand mining activities must be stopped to eradicate the noise, and human pollution.

The first photo gave you a good indication of the type of bird life that are available @ Kinta Nature Park. The Grey Heron and Great Egret in the foreground, the Black Crowned Night Heron on the right and the Javan Pond Heron is hiding just behind the tree line. What is missing from this photo is the Grey Heron (photograph 2 below)

Purple Swamphen with chick

The Purple Swmphen foraging with chick (@Bidor). From what I read in Wiki, The Romans used to kept this bird as decorative bird at their villa, and was regarded as noble bird.

White Bellied Sea Eagle

Stumbled upon this aerial fight between a juves White Bellied Sea Eagle and the annoying crows on my way back from Bidor, Perak. This poor bird was being pursued by the crows relentlessly in mid air and at his nest.

This White Bellied Sea Eagle is the largest birds of prey on South East Asia and is active during the day. Here is a closer photograph of him dangling on some wires, I supposed his is practising his in-flight hunting skills.

Here is the handsome adult bird sitting on a steal pipe of the communication tower.

Cattle Egret

A Cattle Egret riding on a buffalo's back. They are always loitering around herds of cow or buffalo by picking out preys disturbed by the grazing animal. A very successful strategy called commensalism for the Cattle Egret.
